Cruisers and sailors interested in increased speed and excellent control now have a cost effective way to accomplish both. The Autostream series of stainless steel feathering propeller which proved enhanced performance without sacrificing maneuverability. The Autostream propeller is made from strong durable stainless steel and because of this it has a very thin blade profile, so when in the feathered position it offers very little drag whilst sailing. These three blade propellers are self-feathering, staying in a low drag sailing position until the engine shaft rotates. This reduced drag can dramatically increases sailing speeds. Whilst the large surface area and three blades give improved thrust under power. The Autostream propeller boats an external pitch adjustment mechanism that allows forward and reverse pitch to be adjusted independently, even while in the water. By fine tuning the pitch, sailors can achieve ideal motoring performance in forward and optimal maneuverability and thrust in reverse with reduced prop walk.

The propellers hubs are cast from marine-grade, 316L stainless steel for strength and durability, while the blades are Duplex 2507 stainless steel for increased strength, this allows a thinner blade profile for reduced drag. Due to the use of the selected stainless steels, theses propellers are less likely to promote electrolysis, which is one of the more common causes of failure for bronze propellers, plus have a better service life in the bearing area than the softer bronze designs. The Autostream range is available as a tapered shaft version or a saildrive model. The sail drive model can be fitted to Volvo, Yanmar or Bukh engines and incorporates a 'fail-safe' cushion hub design to protect the saildrive drive train. The propeller would be supplied to suit your shaft and boat and any pitch adjustments then made would be a matter of personal preference.
